Photos

rsync -av -e ssh /mnt/scandisk/New-DigiPics/ xaron:/volume1/photo

Shared photos are stored under /volume1/photo/
users photos are under /volume1/homes/USERNAME/Photos/PhotoLibrary/

** Scans ** rsync -av -e ssh Pictures/Scans/ xaron:/volume1/photo/Scans

** Music ** rsync -av -e ssh /mnt/scandisk/UnScanned-and-Backups/ xaron:/volume1/homes/ardstoreal/UnScanned-and-Backups

Homes folder permissions

  • Opening File Station as admin
  • right-clicking on the 'homes' folder and choosing properties
  • click the Permission tab
  • Click 'Everyone' (and also any users that had custom permissions set) then choose 'Type:Allow' and 'Read:Traverse folders/Execute files' ONLY

Then all seems good now! I don't recall setting anything manually either, but I've had my Synology a while so maybe the issue was as a result of having upgraded from an earlier version?
